Fra og med år 2021,gjennomføres omvisninger kun for grupper etter forhåndsbestilling. 

The tours themselves go through the fort's central mountain complex, inside the cannon tower, at the highest lookout point and in the Fortress Museum, created by the Association for Høytorp fort. Total length of the tour is approx. 1.2 km, of which approx. 0.5km is underground. Duration is approx. an hour and a half. Guided tours are carried out by members of the Association for Høytorp fort, usually in period uniforms.

Extended or shorter round by agreement. Want a shorter round of approx. 45-60 minutes, the trip loops up to the top. It is recommended to set aside time for a regular round of approx. 90 minutes. If you wish to take the cannon exhibition with you, it will be approx. 20-30 minutes in additional time.

The mountain complex at Høytorp fort is not suitable for people with reduced mobility, with a lot of stairs etc. But the main corridor, the Fortress Museum and some rooms are wheelchair accessible. There are no toilets in the mountain facilities, but a public toilet is available down by the buildings. It can be cold and raw in the mountain resort, especially raw in summer. Good shoes are an advantage.
